The invention of handmade paper in 105 A.D. is credited to the Chinese. Ancient methods of making pulp often consisted of boiling vegetable fibers with lye. Today handmade paper is often considered an art form, with examples of cast and manipulated paper seen in galleries. Paper can be made in the classroom by a variety of methods, in this class we will focus on sheet formation. Please wear sensible shoes. There will be water!
