In pinhole photography, a tiny pin-sized hole replaces the actual camera lens capturing an image from a unique perspective that can be rich in detail and atmosphere. While the focus is not as sharp as a conventional lens camera or digital photograph, the resulting image has an equal degree of sharpness across the entire range of the image’s depth of field. In this workshop we will use conventional black & white photographic paper to produce the ‘negative’ image that may then be printed as a positive black & white photograph.

Studio 224 will offer participants the opportunity to learn about pinhole photography, construct their own pinhole camera, and take pictures that they can develop and print in Studio 224’s darkroom. The workshop starts at 10am and participants will be able to take photos and develop until 3pm. Prior experience in photography or in darkroom processing is not required. Studio 224’s darkroom will be open for anyone who would like to develop pinhole photographs from 10am-3pm. Studio staff will be available for technical support.
